- Report for the Diwode Medical Screening Camp for People With Disabilities at Old Kampala Senior Secondary School

There are over 90,000 people with Disabilities in Kampala, 28.6% of whom live in Kampala Division (UBOS, 2016). DIWODE has done Medical Screening for the past 4 years with approximately a turn up of 400+ People with disabilities: 280 women and 140 men from slum areas of Kampala District. The annual event also attracts 300+ nondisabled persons. Majority of these are women and girls, which shows that disability prevalence is more among women than men at 15% higher by comparison. The likelihood of living with disability increases with age; one quarter (26.9%) of people aged 60-64 years are living with disability.
